About “Guitar Garbage 1.2”
So, the Guitar Garbage project started a few years ago when I quit my last band. At this time, I knew I wanted to keep playing, but I did not know exactly what direction I wanted to follow, so for a little while, I kept composing for an hypothetic new band, with an uncertain new singer. But after a short period of time, I realised that I was still not satisfied, that something was missing. In fact the idea of doing something of my own came from my wife.
Anyway, this is when I started to compose instrumental songs. At the beginning, I composed some "classic" guitar tunes like a fast boogie, a mid-tempo, etc, but it still was not what I wanted. So one day, I thought "What if I try to rearrange a tune I made for my uncertain new band in order to play it instrumental?" Suddenly, I finally found what I was looking for. Then, I just let the music come to me, and after a little while I had something like 13 new songs ready.
The next logic step was to go into a studio to record a few of them, so this is what I did and my first 3 songs demo (Guitar Garbage) was born. The following recording should have been called Guitar Garbage 1.1, but hasn't been this way, because for those songs I had worked every parts, every single note was "written" In others words, there was no improvisation on it. As you probably know, studios are quiet expansive, so if you have something like three hours to do your leads and you are not in a good day, well that's it. Then I thought that the only solution in order to be able to improvise and, in general, to have the freedom to experiment, was to record the full-length album by myself with whatever I could have. Hopefully, with digital technologies, you can have a pretty decent machine for a pretty decent price, so I saved money and bought a 16 tracks digital recording machine. After a period of intense frustrations where I was not able to record a single sound, I finally read the manual and started to record Guitar Garbage 1.2 with the possibility to do whatever (and whenever) what I wanted to, to have a total artistic control and freedom.
Sincerely
