About “B4”
Finally, my second CD is done. I said finally, because for me 5 years (I recorded "Guitar Garbage" in 2000) is way too long. Unfortunately, I was not able to record it for a reason or another, although some songs on this album are written since 2001. Sometimes, life does not go as you would like.
When I did Guitar Garbage, all I wanted was a "Groovy, instrumental, heavy rock guitar album" so, since I'm not a rock star, this is what I did. For "B4",I changed the rules, the songs are more varied, there's still some heavy groovin stuff, but mixed with others ideas, and I added keybords. But don't worry, I'm still not ready to go to the top 40 or something like that.
It was recorded (like Guitar Garbage) with a Roland VS-1680 and a few mics. We first recorded drums with some basic guitars tracks, then added bass , the guitar tracks and at least the keyboard stuff that was done using Reason. All the solos on this album are improvised and done in a single take (to be honest, not always the first take, well I don't think there's a first take ....in fact).
I would like to thanks Ivan, Franz and Pascal who all did a great job, especially considering the way we had to record this CD. A great thanks to Christian, who did a great job with the mastering.
There's lots of music in this CD, when listening it, you will find some interesting harmonics changes, heavy riffs, sometimes some odd-meters stuff and some really cool melodies and feelings. Each songs express a particular feeling, but I'm really unable to explain them with words. That's the beauty of instrumental music, just close your eyes and let your mind go wherever he wants to go.
I hope you will like this second CD, and that I will be able to record the third one before 2010.
I would like to thanks all the people who did some nice reviews about "Guitar Garbage" (and, I hope, will do some nice reviews about "B4" too) It was a real surprise for me.
Thanks too to all the people who sent me some e-mails saying they like what I do and that they hope to ear some new stuff really soon.
